Our Moderators facilitate the chatrooms and their main goal is to keep the entire room safe which requires them to be able to focus primarily on the room. While we do have private instant messaging to/from the Moderators they can’t always respond immediately.
There may be times they have more IMs than one person can handle while still being able to focus on the room. They are not intentionally ignoring or slighting anyone, but their priority has to be first on the room itself. At times, a private message topic goes beyond what a moderator can focus on and give the deserved attention to. In that case we do encourage you to either call the Youth Talkline or use our one-to-one CHAT to have a conversation with a peer support volunteer who can give you their full attention.
